Maeve Ryan
I am a qualified and experienced primary school teacher across all year groups at primary level. I have experience teaching Maths and English for KS3 and GCSE as well as Functional Skills Maths and English, 11+ and preparation for common entrance exams.
After stepping away from the classroom a few years ago, I began working with homeschooled children and teens in Brighton & Hove, where I had the pleasure to support a range of students with autism and SEN needing extra support as well as mainstream students. Working alongside these incredible young people was inspiring as we built relationships and created a safe environment for them to learn at their own pace, where they could be themselves with no judgement.
From this, I set up More than words Tuition where we adopt a person-centred approach allowing for the individual needs of each student to be met, whether those needs are academic, social & emotional, life skills or others. Creating an environment on a personal level, conducive to learning, allows them to feel successful in whatever they are doing.
